Aruna Indrasinghe, the promoter of the project, is an accomplished chef hailing from Sri Lanka. His culinary journey began at the young age of 10 when he started assisting his mother in the kitchen. After completing his high school education, he pursued formal training at Sri Lanka’s renowned Hotel School in Colombo. Here, he gained a strong foundation in both hotel management and culinary arts.
Seeking to further hone his skills and knowledge, Aruna ventured to Switzerland, a global hub for hospitality education. He successfully graduated with a degree in hotel industry management from his studies there. With his academic background and a burning passion for culinary arts, Aruna embarked on an international career that led him to work in various European and Middle Eastern countries.
Throughout his career, Aruna’s culinary expertise shone brightly as he worked in prestigious restaurants, earning acclaim that included up to three Michelin stars for his outstanding dishes. A testament to his culinary prowess, he had the privilege of serving as a private chef for esteemed individuals and families, such as the Dutch Royal Family and other royal households from around the world.
With a passion for food and a keen eye for detail, Aruna has been a trusted food adviser for many renowned airlines. He has helped them design and deliver exquisite meals for their premium customers, ensuring high standards of quality, taste and presentation. Aruna also runs his own food and beverage-consulting bureau in the Netherlands, where he serves a diverse range of clients in the hospitality industry. He draws on his extensive knowledge and experience to provide tailored solutions for their specific needs and goals.
Aruna Indrasinghe has made the Netherlands his home and established his own restaurant, Aruna Cuisine in 2012, within the heart of Roermond. Roermond is renowned for its cultural and historical significance, making it an ideal location for Aruna’s culinary venture. Aruna Cuisine is a culinary destination that reflects Aruna’s diverse background and experiences. Sri Lankan Architect Lalith Gunadasa has a background in Art and Architecture. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Built Environment and completion of Master of Science in Architecture degree in Moratuwa University, trained as a student and as an Architect under Sri Lankan Modernist Architect Vinod Jayasinghe, who had worked with Geoffrey Bawa in his young age. On receiving his charter 2011, Lalith established independent practice in 2012. The Studio is now located in Hokandara, Sri Lanka
